Newly crowned Miss Blue Moon 2020, Scarlet Fairweather, has been struggling to do live in-person events due to the Pennsylvania State Stay-In-Home Order since March. Scarlet Fairweather find other ways to hustle and maintain their income during this pandemic by continuing to be the performer they are.

Miss Blue Moon is a short documentary film that intends to explore the personal world of a drag queen. Behind the costume, make-up, and character there deeper human motives that drive them to do what they do.

The Blue Moon Bar has been hosting Miss Blue Moon pageants for the last nine years on Butler Street in Pittsburgh. I created Miss Blue Moon because I felt obligated to share a spotlight on the men/women who are in the drag industry to help tell their stories during this time of the pandemic. Over the years, I heard stories of people dehumanizing the men/women who partake in this profession of female impersonators. People forget that drag queens are only humans who love to entertain people. Since COVID-19 has stopped so many businesses from running, there were many entertainers left jobless and are in financial problems.
