Dodgeball Tournament Sponsored by AB SAAC Raises Money For Make a Wish
PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the inaugural dodgeball tournament on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017.
SAAC is an organization formed by representatives from every athletic team at Alderson Broaddus University. Their mission is to raise money for The Make a Wish Foundation throughout the school year.
Alanna Kelley, the president of SAAC, explains what made the decision to host a dodgeball tournament.
"In past years we have seen how successful dodgeball tournaments have been for other organizations, so we wanted to start off with a good fundraiser knowing that dodgeball would bring in a lot of money to the organization," said Kelley.
The SAAC program members were very involved with this event as they were official referees or were in charge of the creating brackets for the tournament.
"The dodgeball game was set up with teams of 5-7 individuals, was single elimination, and there were 15 teams that competed overall," said Kelley. "The tournament was a great success and we raised about
